Abstract: Labuhan Belawan merupakan salah satu kota yang memiliki pelabuhan di Indonesia yang berlokasi di kecamatan Medan Belawan. Penggunaan transportasi berbasis jalan rel dirasakan sangat efektif dan efisien dalam melayani tingginya tuntutan kebutuhan pergerakan dikarenakan transportasi berbasis jalan rel memiliki kapasitas dan kecepatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan transportasi berbasis jalan raya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengevaluasi geometri jalan rel Medan Belawan Geometri jalan rel dievaluasi berdasarkan pada beban lintas yang merupakan turunan dari jumlah demand angkutan eksiting dan tipe kereta yang melintasinya dengan mempertimbangkan faktor keamanan, kenyamanan, ekonomi dan lingkungan. Parameter yang digunakan sebagai berikut .Rel :R54, Beban gandar :18 ton, Lebar spoor :1067 mm, Jarak Bantalan :60 cm, Type penambat :Pendrol, Tikungan PI 1, Type tikungan SCS menggunakan lengkung peralihan, kecepatan yang tersedia 96 km/jam, dilakukan peninggian setinggi 110 cm, pelebaran tikungan 10 mm. Tikungan PI 2, Type tikungan SCS menggunakan lengkung peralihan, kecepatan tersedia 100 km/jam, peninggian sebesar 110 cm, pelebaran tikungan 10 mm. Tikungan PI 3, Type tikungan SCS menggunakan lengkung peralihan, kecepatan 105 km/jam, peninggian sebesar 110 cm, pelebaran tikungan 5 mm. Medan Belawan is one of the cities that has a port in Indonesia which is located in Medan Belawan sub-district. The use of rail-based transportation is considered very effective and efficient in serving the high demands of movement needs because rail-based transportation has a higher capacity and speed than road-based transportation. This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the geometry of the Medan Belawan rail road. Rail road geometry is evaluated based on the traffic load which is a derivative of the number of existing transportation demands and the type of train that crosses it by considering safety, comfort, economy and environmental factors. The parameters used are as follows: Rail :R54, Axle load :18 tons, Spoor width :1067 mm, Bearing Distance :60 cm, Tether type :Pendrol, Bend PI 1, Type of SCS bend using a transition curve, available speed 96 km/h, 110 cm elevation, 10 mm bend widening. Bend PI 2, Type SCS bend using a transition curve, available speed 100 km/h, elevation of 110 cm, bend widening of 10 mm. Bend PI 3, Type SCS bend using a transitional arch, speed 105 km/h, elevation of 110 cm, bend widening 5 mm.
