Abstract: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis plasmodium yang dominan menginfeksi prajurit TNI-AD pasca tugas di daerah Papua. Penelitian dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan mengambil data rekam medik dari 156 orang pasien malaria dan mengidentifikasi plasmodium yang menginfeksi TNI-AD yang opname diruang rawat inap penyakit dalam Rumah Sakit TK-11 Putri Hijau Medan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh secara mikroskopik yang terinfeksi Plasmodium vivax sebanyak 88 orang (56,41 %), Plasmodiumfalciparum sebanyak 53 orang (33,97%), Plasmodium vivax+Plasmodium falciparum (Mixed infection) sebanyak 11 orang (7 ,05%) dan Plasmodium ovale hanya menginfeksi 4 orang (2,56%). The research was conducted by using descriptive method to determine the dominant species of Plasmodium infecting army soldiers after duty in papua. Data were collected from 156 patient's medical record . The microscopic examination showed that Plasmodium vivax infected 88 {56,41%) people whereas 53 {33,97%) were infected by Plasmodium falciparum. 11 patients got mixed infections by Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium falciparum, and the 4 remaining patients were infected by Plasmodium ova/e.
