The pwpose of this research was to identify the types of weeds in hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) cultivation at various altitudes. The research location was conducted at different altitudes located in 3 regions, namely the city of Medan, Deli Serdang Regency, and Karo Regency. This research used descriptive and quadrat methods, using 3 square sample plots measuring I x I m1 diagonally in 3 areas with differenl altitudes. The material used in. this research was hybrid com plantations. The tools used in this research were hoes, a mobile phone with the Google Lens application, plastic bags, stationety, paper bags, scales, labels, paper glue, and a camera. The parameters measured were the number and types of weeds, as well as the analysis of weed vegetation found in the field. The results of the research showed that in the lowlands, I 2 species {I 816 individuals) were found, dominated by the weed Cyperus rotundus L. with an SDR value of 19%. Jn the midlands, 17 species {1915 individuals) were found, dominated by the weed Richardia scabra L. with an SDR value of 18%. Jn the highlands, 16 species (3794 individuals) were found, dominated by the weed Oxalis Jatifolia Kunth. with an SDR value of 23%. The midlands had the highest diversity index value of 2 . .169 in the first observation, 2.257 in the second observation, 2.223 in the third observation, and 2.245 in the fourth observation, while the lowlands had the lowest diversity index value (1.536 in the first observation, 1.637 in the second observation, 1.640 in the third observation, and 1.316 in thefourth observation).
