Abstract: Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji secara empiris dan mengetahui pengaruh self-control terhadap perilaku konsumtif pada Mahasiswi Pascasarjana Universitas Medan Area. Metode yang digunakan metode kuantitatif. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh seluruh Mahasiswi Pascasarjana Program Studi Magister Psikologi berjumlah 318 mahasiswi dengan sampel 117. Teknik sampel yang digunakan purposive sampling. Berdasakan hasil dari analisis regresi sederhana dengan membandingkan nilai t hitung dengan t tabel, yang mana jika nilai t hitung > t tabel maka terdapat pengaruh antara self-control dengan perilaku konsumtif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi sederhana didapatkan hasil t hitung (7.457) dan t tabel (1.657), yang artinya t tabel > t hitung yaitu 7.457 > 1.657 sehingga didapatkan hasil terdapat pengaruh self-control terhadap perilaku konsumtif. Berdasakan hasil dari perhitungan koefisien determinasi, didapatkan nilai koefisien determinasi (r2) ialah r2= 0,403. Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwasanya Self-Control mempunyai kontribusi terhadap Perilaku Konsumtif sebesar 40.3%. Berdasarkan hasil uji mean dapat diketahui bahwa Self- Control tergolong rendah dengan nilai mean hipotetik sebesar 70 dan mean empiriknya sebesar 56.39. Selanjutnya Perilaku Konsumtif memperoleh hasil tinggi dengan nilai hipotetik sebesar 70 dan nilai empiriknya sebesar 86.74. The purpose of this study is to empirically test and determine the effect of self-control on consumer behavior in Postgraduate Students of Medan Area University. The method used is a quantitative method. The population of this study was all Postgraduate Students of the Psychology Masters Study Program totaling 318 female students with a sample of 117. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Based on the results of a simple regression analysis by comparing the calculated t value with the t table, where if the calculated t value> t table then there is an influence between self-control and consumer behavior. Based on the results of a simple regression analysis, the results of the calculated t (7.457) and t table (1.657) were obtained, which means that t table> t count, namely 7.457> 1.657 so that the results show that there is an influence of self-control on consumer behavior. Based on the results of the calculation of the coefficient of determination, the coefficient of determination (r2) is obtained as r2 = 0.403. This shows that Self-Control has a contribution to Consumptive Behavior of 40.3%. Based on the results of the mean test, it can be seen that Self-Control is classified as low with a hypothetical mean value of 70 and an empirical mean of 56.39. Furthermore, Consumptive Behavior obtains high results with a hypothetical value of 70 and an empirical value of 86.74.
