Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku komunikasi ibu dan anak yang memiliki perbedaan keyakinan agama, cara membangun keharmonisan keluarga, serta hambatan yang muncul dalam komunikasi antara ibu dan anak dalam konteks ini di Kelurahan Pinangbaru. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 ibu dan 3 anak berbeda keyakinan yang berada di Kelurahan Pinangbaru. Penelitian ini membahas komunikasi interpersonal antara ibu dan anak yang berbeda keyakinan agama, menggunakan perspektif teori komunikasi interpersonal dari De Vito. Dinamika komunikasi ibu dan anak berbeda keyakinan meliputi keterbukaan, empati, dukungan, sikap positif, dan kesetaraan. Namun, tekanan keluarga besar dan dominasi orang tua sering mengganggu proses ini. Keterbukaan dan empati sulit tercapai karena rasa tidak dipahami, sementara dukungan orang tua kerap dianggap paksaan sehingga menimbulkan jarak emosional. Ketegangan berulang menghambat sikap positif dan kesetaraan, karena perbedaan keyakinan dianggap ancaman keharmonisan keluarga. Keharmonisan perlu dibangun melalui kasih sayang, pengertian, komunikasi, dan kerja sama, meski konflik keyakinan dan tekanan keluarga besar sering membatasi kedekatan emosional. Hambatan komunikasi ibuanak berbeda keyakinan muncul dari ketidakmampuan saling memahami dan menghargai pandangan. Ibu kecewa saat anak menolak kegiatan keagamaan, sedangkan anak merasa tertekan dan tidak didengar. Ketegangan terjadi karena ibu merasa anak tidak menghargai nilai, dan anak merasa ibu tidak mengerti posisinya. Komunikasi terbuka dan saling menghargai sulit terjalin, karena perbedaan keyakinan membuat sulit menemukan titik temu dalam hubungan keluarga. This study aims to determine the communication behavior of mothers and children with differing religious beliefs, ways to build family harmony, and the barriers that arise in communication between mothers and children in this context in Pinangbaru Village. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological approach. The subjects were three mothers and three children of different religious beliefs living in Pinangbaru Village. This study examines interpersonal communication between mothers and children of different religious beliefs, using the perspective of De Vito's interpersonal communication theory. The dynamics of communication between mothers and children of different religious beliefs include openness, empathy, support, positive attitudes, and equality. However, pressure from the extended family and parental dominance often interfere with this process. Openness and empathy are difficult to achieve due to feelings of incomprehension, while parental support is often perceived as coercion, creating emotional distance. Recurrent tensions hinder positive attitudes and equality, as differences in beliefs are perceived as a threat to family harmony. Harmony needs to be built through love, understanding, communication, and cooperation, although conflicting beliefs and pressures within the extended family often limit emotional closeness. Communication barriers between mothers and children of different faiths arise from an inability to understand and respect each other's views. Mothers are disappointed when their children refuse religious activities, while children feel pressured and unheard. Tensions arise because mothers feel their children don't respect their values, and children feel their mothers don't understand their position. Open communication and mutual respect are difficult to establish, as differences in faith make it difficult to find common ground in family relationships. |
