Abstract: | Anak-anak dengan disabilitas intelektual cenderung dianggap memiliki disabilitas dan diremehkan oleh banyak orang. Namun, terlepas dari disabilitas ini, mereka memiliki kekuatan yang sama dengan anak-anak normal lainnya. Kurangnya pemahaman orang tua mengenai pendidikan anak-anak dengan disabilitas intelektual, yang berfokus pada pengembangan mental, kepribadian, dan keterampilan mereka, mengakibatkan banyak anak-anak dengan disabilitas intelektual tidak menerima pendidikan yang sama dengan anak-anak lainnya. Keterpencilan fasilitas pendidikan untuk anak-anak dengan disabilitas intelektual di daerah perkotaan membuat orang tua semakin enggan untuk mendaftarkan anak-anak mereka di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB). Oleh karena itu, perlu untuk merancang sekolah luar biasa untuk anak-anak dengan disabilitas intelektual di lokasi yang dekat dengan daerah perkotaan dan sekolah-sekolah yang memenuhi kebutuhan anak-anak dengan disabilitas intelektual dan perilaku mereka. Children with intellectual disabilities tend to be viewed as having disabilities and are underestimated by many. However, despite these disabilities, they possess the same strengths as other normal children. Parents' lack of understanding regarding the education of children with intellectual disabilities, which focuses on developing their mental, personality, and skills, results in many children with intellectual disabilities not receiving the same education as other children. The remoteness of educational facilities for children with intellectual disabilities in urban areas makes parents increasingly reluctant to enroll their children in special needs schools (SLB). Therefore, it is necessary to design special schools for children with intellectual disabilities in locations close to urban areas and schools that meet the needs of children with intellectual disabilities and their behavior. |
