Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Bagaimana Strategi Komunikasi TVRI Sumatera Utara dalam meningkatkan minat penonton terhadap tayangan berita. Masalah difokuskan pada Bagaimana Strategi Komunikasi TVRI Sumatera Utara dalam meningkatkan minat penonton terhadap tayangan program berita. Guna mendekati masalah ini dipergunakan acuan teori dari Teory SOR adalah sebuah akronim dari Stimulus-Organism-Response. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi TVRI dalam meningkatkan minat penonton terhadap berita yang ada di Sumut telah berhasil mengintegrasikan berbagai pendekatan komunikasi digital secara efektif. Melalui penerapan strategi "hyperlocal journalism," TVRI mampu menghadirkan konten yang relevan dengan kebutuhan lokal masyarakat Sumatera Utara, serta memanfaatkan berbagai platform digital untuk menjangkau audiens yang lebih luas, terutama generasi muda. This study aims to determine how TVRI North Sumatra's communication strategy increases audience interest in news programs. The problem focuses on how TVRI North Sumatra's communication strategy increases audience interest in news programs. To approach this problem, the theoretical reference used is the SOR theory, an acronym for Stimulus-Organism-Response. This study uses a qualitative research type with data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The results of the study indicate that TVRI's communication strategy in increasing audience interest in news in North Sumatra has succeeded in integrating various digital communication approaches effectively. Through the implementation of the "hyperlocal journalism" strategy, TVRI is able to present content relevant to the local needs of the North Sumatra community, as well as utilizing various digital platforms to reach a wider audience, especially the younger generation.
