Indonesia is currently experiencing rapid industrial growth, leading to an increased demand for decent housing for workers. This study proposes the design of rental flats Rusunawa in the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area as a solution to the lack of adequate housing. The research adopts a tropical architecture approach, emphasizing thermal comfort, cross ventilation, and the use of natural lighting. A descriptive-qualitative method was employed through observation, documentation, and literature review. The results indicate that integrating tropical architectural principles such as building orientation, the use of secondary skin, and green open spaces can enhance both comfort and energy efficiency in residential units. These rental flats not only fulfill housing needs but also foster a healthy and productive environment for industrial workers. |
