This study aims to describe the dual role conflict experienced by ministers, its impact on their ministry and work roles, and the coping strategies used to address this conflict. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of two ministers at the Church of God in Indonesia (GTDI) in Lumban Tonga-Tonga, who also serve as professional workers and housewives. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews and documentation with three research informants. The results showed that dual role conflict emerged in the form of time constraints, emotional stress, and differences in behavioral demands between work, church ministry, and family roles. This conflict impacted ministry effectiveness, job performance, and the subjects' psychological well-being. To address the dual role conflict, the subjects developed various coping strategies, including time management, prioritization, communication with relevant parties, social support from family and fellow ministers, and spiritual strengthening through prayer and faith reflection. These coping strategies helped the subjects maintain role balance and continuity of ministry amidst the various role demands they faced. This study provides an understanding of the dynamics of dual role conflict in church servants and the importance of coping strategies in maintaining a balance between ministry roles, work, and family life. |
