Hubungan antara Need for Achievement dengan Academic Dishonesty pada Siswa-siswi di SMA Bandung Percut Sei Tuan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara need for achievement dengan academic dishonesty pada siswa-siswi di SMA Swasta Bandung Percut Sei Tuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 63 siswa. Adapun instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan skala need for achievement dan skala academic dishonesty. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Korelasi Product Moment. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diketahui bahwa ada hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara need for achievement dengan academic dishonesty dilihat dari koefisien (𝑟𝑥𝑦 ) = -0,782 dengan p = 0,000 < 0,05. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan diterima, semakin tinggi need for achievement maka semakin rendah academic dishonesty dan sebaliknya, serta nilai koefisien determinasi (𝑟2) = 0,611. Ini menunjukkan bahwa need for achievement berkontribusi sebesar 61,1% terhadap academic dishonesty. Berdasarkan hasil uji mean hipotetik dan empiriknya, need for achievement masuk dalam kategori rendah dengan mean hipotetik = 82,50 dan mean empirik = 72,70, dan untuk academic dishonesty masuk dalam ketegori tinggi dengan mean hipotetik = 50 dan meanempirik = 68,25. This research aimed to determine the correlation between need for achievement and academic dishonesty among students at Bandung Percut Sei Tuan Private Senior High School. This research used a quantitative method. The research sample consisted of 63 students. The research instruments used is a need for achievement scale and an academic dishonesty scale. The data analysis method used was Pearson’s Product Moment. Based on the result of data analysis, it is known that there is a significant negative correlation between need for achievement and academic dishonesty as seen from the coefficient (𝑟𝑥𝑦 )= -0,782 with p = 0,000 < 0,05. These result show that the proposed hypothesis is accepted, the higher the need for achievement, the lower the academic dishonesty, and vice versa, and the determinant coefficient (𝑟2)= 0,611. This shows that need for achievement contributes 61,1% to academic dishonesty. Based on the result of hypothetical and empirical mean test, need for achievement is in the low category with the hypothetical mean = 82,50 and the empirical mean = 72,70, and for academic dishonesty is in the high category with the hypothetical mean = 50 and empirical mean = 68,25.
