Cloves are one of Indonesia’s leading plantation commodities and play a strategic role in international trade. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesia’s clove exports and to examine the determinants influencing the volume of Indonesia’s clove exports to major destination countries using three analytical methods. Competitiveness analysis was conducted using the Trade Specialization Index (TSI) and Export Product Dynamics (EPD), while the analysis of export determinants was performed using panel data regression with the Common Effect Model (CEM) approach. The TSI analysis results show an average value of 0.2169, indicating that Indonesia still functions as a net exporter of cloves, although its level of specialization is not yet fully stable. The EPD analysis indicates that Indonesia’s clove export position in destination countries falls into the “rising star” market category. The results of the panel data regression show that, simultaneously, the variables have a significant effect on the volume of Indonesia’s clove exports, with an F-statistic value of 24.49673 and a probability of 0.000000, as well as an Adjusted R-squared value of 0.701463 or 70%.
