Description:	Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Universitas Medan Area yang berlokasi di desa Sampali sejak bulan Februari sampai bulan Mei 1999. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) secara faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor perlakuan, yaitu : 1. Faktor sumber mata tunas (notasi S) 2. Faktor perendarnan Rootone-F (notasi R). Adapun parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tunas, diameter tunas, jumlah daun tunas, bobot basah tunas tanaman sampel per plot dan bobot kering tunas tanaman sampel per plot.
