Abstract: | Muara merupakan perairan pantai dimana mulut sungai bertemu dengan laut dan dimana air tawar bercampur dengan air asin yang berasal dari laut. Muara mempunyai nilai ekonomis yang penting karena dapat berfungsi sebagai alur penghubung antara laut dan daerah yang cukup dalam di daratan. Pentingnya pengetahuan tentang muara akan dapat membantu perkembangan bagi muara tersebut, salah satunya dengan cara studi karakteristik fisik muara yang mencakup pemodelan matematis pada muara tersebut. Pemodelan matematis muara dilakukan dengan menggunakan program Microsoft Excel yang meliputi pemodelan bathimetri dan pasang surut. Pemodelan bathimetri telah menunjukkan lebar saluran dan kedalaman yang mengecil bila ditinjau dari mulut muara. Pada pemodelan bathimetri, terdapat selisih yang cukup jauh dengan kondisi di lapangan baik dalam lebar muara serta kedalamannya dengan perbedaan yang paling besar terdapat pada titik M136 dan M135 untuk bagian lebar dengan perbedaan sejauh 0.72 m dan 0.62m, sedangkan pada kedalaman perbedaan yang paling besar terdapat pada titik M138 dengan selisih 4.94 m sedangkan pemodelan pasang surut telah berhasil mensimulasi siklus pasang surut semidiurnal yaitu dua kali pasang dan dua kali surut dalam sehari semalam. Selain itu, siklus spring dan neap tides yang terjadi dua minggu sekali juga dapat disimulasikan. |
Description: | Estuariy is coastal waters where the mouth of the river meets the ocean and where he freshwater of the river mixes with the saline water from the ocean. Estuary has an important economic value because it can be functioned as a connector between sea and the area that quite deep in the mainland. The importance of knowledge about an estuary will be able to help the develpoment of that estuary itself and the area around it, one of them is with an estuary physical characteristic study that include a mathematic modeling in the estuary. An estuary modeling mathematic is done by using a Microsoft Excel Program which includes bathimetry modeling, tides, currents, and salinity. Bathimetry modeling has shown that channel width and depth is declining if it’s reviewed from the estuary’s mouth. Bathymetry modeling has shown the width of the channel and the shrinking depth when viewed from the mouth of the estuary. In the bathymetry modeling, there is a considerable difference with the conditions in the field both in the width of the estuary and its depth with the greatest difference at M136 and M135 points for the width with a difference of 0.72 m and 0.62m, whereas in the depth the largest difference is At point M138 with difference of 4.94 mTides modeling has been succeded to simulate semidiurnal tides cycle which is two times tides and two times ebb in one day. Besides, spring tides and neap tides cycle that happened once per two weeks can be simulated. |
