Peran Humas dalam Membangun Citra Pemerintahan Sumatera Utara (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif pada Kantor Biro Humas Gubernur Sumatera Utara)

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of public relations role in building the image of government. The purpose of this study is to explain the role of public relations in building the image of the government of North Sumatra. Theories used in this study include the theory of communication, public relations and the theory of image. The type of this research is qualitative research using qualitative descriptive method, Research data collected by interviewing some resource. Resource persons of this research are personnel in public relations department of North Sumatera such as public relations sub-chairman and four public relations staff, research result shows that public relations role in building image of North Sumatera is seen from public relations role as expert advisor, public relations role as problem solver, public relations role as communication facilitator . Overall it can be explained that the public relations of North Sumatra government has done its role in building the image of North Sumatera government.
