Analisa Pengendalian Kualitas Crude Palm Oil (Cpo) dengan Metode Six Sigma pada PT.Tales Inti Sawit-Bangun Purba

Abstract

On the oil production process at PT. Tales IntiSawit-BangunPurba, there are still defect products caused by the unstandardized oil quality specifications. So, it caused the oil need to be reprocessed and lead to the production target to do not achieve. This study aims to control the quality of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) to minimize the defect products. Then, the quality control conducted by using the six sigma method arranged based on a simple finishing method, which is DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control). The results showed that on average, there were still defect products above the specification limit or the very high defect on CPO quality.Furthermore, from the quality control calculation by using the six sigma method, it was obtained a DPMO value of 145260 by a sigma value of 2.56. It meant that the sigma level was still low and there was a high variation in the process or the very high defect on CPO quality.Moreover, based on the capability calculation, it was obtained a Cp of quality control of ALB level of 0.50, the water level of 1.206, and a dirt level of 0.267. It meant that the process was in an inability condition to meet and produce the standardized CPO quality product in maximal.Then, the product quality improvement proposal through the 5W + 1 H method by performing the improvement towards all the causal sources of quality decreases. It was by conducting several improvements to the people/operator performance; to the machine to be optimally so the potential caused the defect can be prevented; to check every raw material whether in standard or not in order to the produced product was meet the company specification; and to improve the inspection standard to maintain the stability of the process variations routinely.
