Pengukuran Nilai Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) pada Mesin Pencetak Biskuit di PT. Siantar Top, Tbk Medan

Abstract

On biscuit making machine division at PT. Siantar Top, Tbk Medan always faces the production losses, not only caused by machine and production tools but also an operator in running the production process. Therefore, it needs to be performed a more detailed identification and analysis of the main causes of the losses in the division. The aims of this research are to find out the effectiveness of the biscuit making machine and the causes of the breakdown on the machine. Then, the OEE method was conducted to measure the effectiveness of a machine and tool use that consists of factors of time availability, machine performance, and product quality. Furthermore, from the research result, it was obtained that the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) value was ranged 70.98% - 77.49%. This OEE value was lower than the standard worldclass that is 85%, which caused the high losses consisted of idle and minor stoppages, set up and adjustment, and reduce speed losses. Thus to increase machine effectiveness, it needs: to make the maintenance operators assignment routinely so they can minimize the risk of breakdown machine; to increase the machine operation and maintenance ability by training all the machine operators; to develop the maintenance program to keep and maintain the machine to be in the best condition.
