Abstract: Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) or Water Supply Regional Company Tirtanadi is a Regional Owned Enterprises Level I of North Sumatra engaged in the provision and distribution of drinking water in Medan City and surrounding. The background of the study is there are some problems with the Soda Ash pump engine, such as the engine stopping suddenly, decreasing the normal speed of the engine, and also the unsuitable results of production. This will cause losses to the company because not only to reducing the level of efficiency and effectiveness of the machine/equipment but also resulting in costs that must be incurred due to the damage. The soda ash pump functions to put soda ash to neutralize or increase the pH of the processed water. This study aims to find out the effectiveness level or soda ash pump engine performance and the dominant factors in causing losses. Total Productive Maintenance is a program that involves all personnel in the company as well as maintaining for all company service facilities. In Total Productive Maintenance, it was conducted the measurements of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value included vailability performance, quality, and Six Big Losses values including breakdown losess, setup, and adjustment losses, reduced speed losses, idling and minor stoppages, network losses, and yield losses. Through the Pareto and Fishbone diagrams, it was determined the dominant factors in losses and causes of losses. Based on the results of the study, the OEE value obtained from the soda ash pump engine was 73.61%, where the condition was still below the International OEE value of 85% and losses were also obtained such as idling minor stoppages and reduced losses, namely each with a percentage of 18.39 % and 5.1%. Thus, based on the calculation results of the OEE value and losses in dominant, so the company must evaluate and apply the TPM concept based on 8 pillars and 5 S.
Description: Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Tirtanadi adalah suatu Badan Usaha Milik Daerah Tingkat I Sumatera Utara, yang khususnya bergerak dalam bidang penyediaan air minum dan pendistribusian air minum khususnya bergerak di Kota Medan dan sekitarnya. Adapun latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat beberapa masalah pada mesin pompa sodah ash, seperti mesin berhenti secara tiba – tiba, menurunnya kecepatan normal pada mesin, dan juga hasil produksi yang tidak sesuai. Hal ini akan menimbulkan kerugian pada perusahaan karena selain dapat menurunkan tingkat efisiensi dan efektivitas mesin/peralatan mengakibatkan adanya biaya yang harus dikeluarkan akibat kerusakan tersebut. Pompa soda ash berfungsi membubuhkan soda ash untuk menetralkan atau meningkatkan pH air olahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas atau kinerja mesin pompa soda ash dan faktor faktor dominan yang menyebabkan losses (kerugian) Total Productive Maintenance merupakan sebuah program yang melibatkan semua personil dalam perusahaan juga merawat semua fasilitas pelayanan yang dimiliki perusahaan. Pada Total Productive Maintenance dilakukan pengukuran nilai overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) yang meliputi nilai availability, performance, quality dan six big losses yang meliputinilai breakdown losess, setup and adjustment losses, reduced speed losses, idling and minor stoppages, rework losses, dan yield losses. Dengan diagram Pareto dan diagram Fishbone ditentukan faktor dominan pada losses dan penyebab losses. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai OEE dari mesin pompa soda ash sebesar 73,61% dimana kondisi tersebut masih dibawahnilai OEE Internasional yaitu85% dan juga diperoleh losses(kerugian) berupa idling minor stoppages dan reduced losses yaitu masing – masing dengan persentase 18,39 % dan 5,1%. Berdasarkan dari hasil perhitungan nilai OEE dan losses yang dominan maka perusahan harus melakukan evaluasi dan menerapkan konsep TPM yang berlandaskan dengan 8 pilar dan 5 S.
