Abstract: Binaka Airport is an airport located in Gunungsitoli City, Nias, North Sumatra Province which serves domestic flights and is managed by the Ministry of Transportation. Since its inception, the airport has only served light aircraft, namely Wings Air, Garuda Indonesia and Citilink. It is estimated that this airportwill experience an increase in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to improve airport facilities such as runways. The runway is a rectangular area specified at the airport on land or in water that is used for landing and taking off aircraft. Types of pavement used for foundation are flexible pavement and rigid pavement. It is planned that this runway will serve Boeing 737-200 aircraft. For the results of calculating the thickness of the pavement carried out by using the formula obtained by 24 inch (60.96cm). while the result of the thickness of the pavement carried out by means of estimation (assumptions) is obtained by 21 inches (53.34 cm), so it is necessary to increase the airport runways such as increasing the size, placement for markers, and other supporting facilities to comply with the National Standards Indonesia (SNI).
Description: Bandar udara Binaka adalah Bandar udara yang terletak di Kota Gunungsitoli, Nias, Provinsi Sumatera Utara yang melayani penerbangan domestic dan dikelola oleh Kementrian Perhubungan. Sejak awal beroperasi Bandar udara ini hanya melayani jenis pesawat ringan yaitu jenis pesawat Wings Air, Garuda Indonesia, dan Citilink. Diperkirakan Bandar udara ini akan mengalami peningkatan dimasa yang akan datang. Oleh sebab itu, perlu dilakukan peningkatan fasilitas Bandar udara seperti landasan pacu (runway). Landasan pacu merupakan daerah persegi panjang yang ditentukan pada bandar udara di daratan atau perairan yang dipergunakan untuk pendaratan dan lepas landas pesawat. Jenis perkerasan yang digunakan untuk landasan adalah perkerasan lentur dan perkerasan kaku. Direncanakan landasan pacu ini akan melayani jenis pesawat Boeing 737-200. Untuk hasil perhitungan tebal perkerasan landasan yang dilakukan dengan cara menggunakan rumus didapat sebesar 24 inch (60,96cm). sedangkan hasil tebal perkerasan landasan yang dilakukan dengan cara penaksiran (asumsi) didapat sebesar 21 inch (53,34 cm), sehingga perlu adanya peningkatan landasan pacu Bandara seperti penambahan ukuran, penempatan untuk marka, dan fasilitas-fasilitas pendukung lainnya agar sesuai dengan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI).
