Hubungan Antara Sikap Terhadap Pemberian Hukuman (Denda) Dengan Disiplin Belajar Mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Medan Jurusan Teknik Elektro Program

Abstract

One of the elements from discipline is a punishment (Hurlock, 1990). An individual has a certain attitude towards reinforcement (reward or punishment) which is accepted from others. Therefore, every student have different ways of thinking punishment given (fine) by each institution (Azwar, 2011). Walgito(2003) describe that positive or negative relation between an individual with a certain object, can effects a certain attitude from the individual towards t\that object. In this case students must be have positive or negative attitude to the punishment given (fine) and this case may affect the discipline learning of students. This observation is mainly focused to -know the relationship between attitude to the punishment given (fine) with discipline of learning of student Politeknik Negeri Medan Jurusan Teknik Elektro Program Studi Teknik Telekomunikasi. The method used in this thesis is a quantitative method. The population in this observation are students of Program Studi Teknik Telekomunikasi has ever accepted punishment (fine) 2012/2013 with 65 peoples are involved, so this is called population of observation. The techniques of taking sample is total sampling. The scale form in this observation by using likert scale on reliability coefficient an attitude to the punishment given (fine) 0,892 and discipline of learning 0,887. In analyzing data the observer using product moment correlation. Based on the analysis data count by using product momentcorrelation, the observer has found coefficient relationship amount 0,597; p=0,000<0,010) it means that there is a positive relationship which is significantlybetween attitude to the punishment given (fine) with discipline of learning. The:rude to the punishment :given (fine) to student has influence to discipline of learning amount 35,7%. Variable attitude to the punishment given (fine) at the subject of observation is classified positive. Even though the variable of disciplinelearning at the subject -ofobservation is high. salah satu unsur dari disiplin adalah hukuman (Hurlock, 1990). Lndividu memiliki sikap tertentu terhadap reinforcement (ganjaran, hukuman) yang diterimanya dari orang lain (Azwar, 2011 ). Oleh karena itu mahasiswa memiliki pola sikap yang berbeda terhadap pemberian hukuman (denda) yang diberikan oleh institusinya. Menurut Walgito (2003) bahwa hubungan yang positif atau negatif antara individu dengan objek tertentu, akan menimbulkan sikap tertentu pula dari individu terhadap objek tersebut. Dalam hal ini mahasiswa dapat bersikap positif maupun negatif terhadap pemberian hukuman (denda) dan hal inilah yang akan mempengaruhi d-isiplin belajar mahasiswa tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sikap terhadap pemberian hukuman( denda) dengan disiplin belajar mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Medan Jurusan Teknik Elektro Program Studi Teknik Telekomunikasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Teknik. Telekomunikasi yang pemah mendapatkan 1hukuman {denda) 1tahun ajaran 2012/2013 dengan jumlah 65 orang, sehingga penelitian ini merupakan penelitian populasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah total sampling. Bentuk skala dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala Wcert dengan koefisien reliabilitas sikap terhadap pemberian hukuman (denda) 0,892 dan disiplin belajar 0,887. Analisa data menggunakan korelasi_product moment. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan analisis data menggunakan product moment diperoleh koefisien hubungan sebesar 0,597; p=0,000 (p < 0,010) artinya ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara sikap terhadap pemberian hukum-an (denda) dengan disiplin helaj:ar. Sikap terhadap pemberi-an hukuman(denda) yang dimiliki mahasiswa memberikan pengaruh terhadap disiplin belajar sebesar 35, 7%. V ariabel sikap terhadap pemberian hukuman (denda} pada subjekpenelitian tergolong positif. Sedangkan variabel disiplin belajar pada subjek penelitian tergolong tinggi
