dc.description.abstract | Demographically, Indonesia is a large market for the growth of restaurant businesses. especially when viewed from the changing lifestyle trends of urban people who increasingly tend to spend their time eating in restaurants. this can be seen in the research of PT. Surindo Utama, namely in 1990, there were still around 71% of people who ate lunch at home, but in 1996 it fell to 57%. Even for the middle and upper class, it is suspected that the figure is even lower. This research shows the tendency of people to eat outside the home. This is what businessmen have caught as an opportunity to establish a restaurant (Usahawan, 1996) Secara demografis, Indonesia merupakan pasar yang besar bagi tumbuhnya bisnis rumah makan. apalagi bila dilihat dari perubahan trend gaya hidup masyarakat perkotaan yang semakin cenderung menghabiskan waktu makannya di restoran-restoran. hal ini dapat dilihat pada penelitian PT. Surindo Utama, yakni pada tahun 1990, masih sekitar 71 % orang yang makan siang di rumah, namun pada tahun 1996 turun menjadi 57 %. Bahkan untuk masyarakat menengah ke atas diduga angkanya lebih rendah lagi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan kecenderungan orang untuk makan di luar rumah. hal inilah yang ditangkap para pengusahan sebagai peluang untuk mendirikan restoran (Usahawan, 1996). | en_US |
