Hubungan antara Self Esteem dengan Resiliensi pada Wanita yang Berperan Sebagai Single Parent Di Kelurahan Medan Tenggara

Abstract

Being single parent for women is a big challenge where they will be confronted with th new situation in their life. The women in the role as single parent have to do a double role, as mother role and father role all at once for their children. To do that double role, The women in the role as single parent must have resiliency. One of factor which influence resiliency is self esteem. This study was purposed to see the relationship between self esteem and resiliency to the women in the role as single parent in Sub-district of South East Medan with as many as 34 people of subjects. The method used in this study is a quantitative. This study uses two scales, self esteem scale and resiliency scale. The method of data analysis in this study used the statistic technique correlation r of product moment. The result of this study is there is positive relationship between self esteem and resiliency to women in the role as single parent in Sub-district of South East Medan by the value (rxy) = 0,569 ; p = 0,000 < 0,05. The level of self esteem to the women in the role as single parent in Sub-district of South East Medan is categorized high. The level of resiliency to the women in the role as single parent in Sub-district of South East Medan is categorized high. The effective contribution of self esteem toward resiliency to the women who act as single parent in Sub-district of South East Medan is 32,4% which is shown by determinant coefficient (r2) = 0, 324.
