Kenaikan nilai CBR unsoaked tertinggi terjadi pada penambahan variasi campuran 8% kapur sebesar 13,99%, nilai ini memenuhi persyaratan CBR tanah dasar (subgrade) minimal 6%.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The expansive clay is sil that experiencing volume changes due to the water content fluctuation, with characteristic it will swell when the soil condition is wet and shrink when dry. The swellings and shringking of expansive clay impact the damage of minor buildings and the highway. The damage of minor buildings thatoccurs cracks in walls and floors to the foundation, while on the highways experiencing elongated cracks to longitudinal cracks. The study purposes to find out how much effect of the lime mixture on expansive clay on their CBR values. Lime generally comes from limestone or dolomite. It has been recognized as a good soil stabilizer, especially for the stabilization of clay soils which have large fluctuations properties and low bearing capacity. Then, the presence of cation (Ca+) elements in lime can provide greater bonds between particles to increase the bearing capacity of the soil. Furthermore, from the analysis of the effect of the lime mixture on expansive clay on CBR values, it can be concluded that the liquid limit value and the plasticity index decrease as increasing levels of lime. The liquid limit value decreased from 47.11% to 43.08% and the plasticity index decreased from 29.66% to 24.13%. the highest increase in unsoaked CBR value occurred in the addition of an 8% lime mixture variation of 13.99%, thus this value fulfills the CBR requirement of a minimum subgrade of 6%. |
