Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Self Esteem dengan Body Dissatisfaction pada Siswi di SMA Hang Tuah Belawan. This study aims to determine the corellation between Self Esteem and Body Dissatisfaction in Female Students at Hang Tuah Belawan High School. The type of research used is quantitative research. The variables used in this study were self esteem and body dissatisfaction. The number of samples used in this study amounted to 140 students at Hang Tuah Belawan High School. The sampling technique uses the purposive sampling method. The data collection method of this study used a self esteem scale and a body dissatisfaction scale arranged based on the likert scaleThe research data were tested using Pearson Product Moment. From the results of the analysis, it is known that the hypothesis of this study was accepted ( rxy = -0.457 with p = 0.000 < 0.05 ) meaning that the lower the self esteem, the higher the body dissatisfaction. On the other, the higher the self esteem, the lower the body dissatisfaction. Self esteem in this study is low because ( empirical mean = 41,38 < hypothetical mean = 52,5 where the difference exceeds the SD number = 8,427). The body dissatisfaction in this study is high because ( empirical mean = 109,31 > hypothetical mean = 90 where the difference does not exceed the SD number = 13.024 ). The determinant coefficient (r2) of the relationship between variable X and variable Y is r2 = 0.209. This shows that self esteem contributes to body dissatisfaction 20,9%. Based on this study, it can be seen that there is still 79,1% influence of other factors on body dissatisfaction which was not revealed in this study.
