This study aims to test empirically and find out the correlation between social support and academic anxiety in SMA Negeri Mulia Education Foundation students. The population of this study were 91 students the research sample is 91 students the sampling technique in this study used the Total Sampling technique. Quantitative research methods. Collecting data on the social support scale and academic anxiety scale using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique uses the Product Moment correlation technique. The results of the analysis using the Correlation Analysis Method r Product Moment It is known that there is a significant negative correlation between social support and academic anxiety where Rxy = -0.43 shows a significant correlation value of p = 0.000 <0.05. This means that there is a negative correlation between social support and academic anxiety of SMA Yayasan Pendidikan Mulia Medan students. The determinant coefficient (r2) of the correlation between social support and academic anxiety is r2 = 0.186. It shows that academic anxiety is formed by 18.6% social support and the rest is formed by other factors, namely behavioral manifestation factors and memory interference factors. It can be concluded that social support and academic anxiety have a significant negative correlation. It is known that social support is classified as high where the hypothetical mean is 110 > from the empirical mean 128.93 and the difference exceeds the SD value of 18.826. And academic anxiety is also classified as moderate where the hypothetical mean is 85 < from the empirical mean 81.31 and the difference exceeds the SD value of 10,775.
