dc.description | Bangle (Zingiber purpureum) memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif seperti minyak atsiri, terpenoid, flavonoid, tanin, dan alkaloid yang memiliki aktivitas antimikroba. Dilakukannya penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan ekstrak etil asetat rimpang bangle dalam menghabat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan yaitu maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut Etil asetat. Uji antimikroba dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya zona bening di sekitar cakram dalam berbagai konsentrasi ekstrak bangle (0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, dan 80%). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhanStaphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli secara signifikan dihambat oleh berbagai konsentrasi ekstrak bangle. Konsentrasi ekstrak 80% memiliki efek yang paling besar terhadap bakteri yang ditunjukkan dari diameter zona hambat. dc.description.abstract | Bangle (Zingiber purpureum) consist of active compounds such as essential oils, terpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids that have antimicrobial activity. This research aimed to find out the ability of ethyl acetate extract of rhizome bangle in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The extraction method used is maceration using ethyl acetate as a solvent. Antibacterial test was performed using disc diffusion method to see the existence of clear zone around the disc in various bangle extract concentration (0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%). The data obtained were statistically analized using a Complete Randomized Design. Data analysis showed that Escerichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus growth were significantly (P<0,01) inhibited by various concentration of bangle extract. 80% of extract concentration has the greatest effect to those bacteria as shown by diameter of inhibition zone. The highest concentration of extract, the more effective to inhibit bacteria growth. | en_US |
