This study aims to determine empirically the relationship between anxiety in dealing with the end of working of the employment contract on the work motivation of contract employees of PT. BNI (Persero) Tbk Medan Branch. This research method used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The subjects in this study were contract employees of PT. BNI (Persero) Tbk Medan Branch as many as 90 employees. The data analysis method used in this research is product moment correlation. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that there is a negative relationship between Anxiety Facing the Termination of Employment Contracts and Work Motivation of Contract Employees where rxy = -0,215 with a significant p = 0.042 <0.05. Based on the test results, the determinant coefficient (r2) of the relationship between the independent variable and dependent variable is r2 = 0.046. This shows that anxiety facing the expiration of the work contract contributes to work motivation by 4.6%. This means that anxiety has a low influence on work motivation. It is also known from the results of this study that the anxiety of the issue of layoffs is high because the empirical average value (82.47) is greater than the hypothetical (77.5), and work motivation is low because the empirical average score (62.17) is lower than the hypothetical average value.
