Redesign Ui/Ux Website Universitas Medan Area Dalam Upaya Meningkatkan Layanan Informasii Terhadap Mahasiswa Dengan Pendekatan Design Thinking To Rapid Prototyping

Abstract

Perkembangan industri yang sangat cepat khususnya industri media komunikasi, membuat Universitas Medan Area ikut serta mempertahankan eksistensinya dengan membuat Website UMA untuk sebagai platform pemberian informasii kampus kepada mahasiswa UMA. Setelah melakukan penyebaran kuesioner awal kepada mahasiswa UMA terdapat 80% menyatakan bahwa Website UMA perlu dilakukan redesign Website meliputi fitur, visual dan layout Website. Adanya permasalahan ini membuat mahasiswa sulit mencari informasii yang mereka inginkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meredesign UI/UX Website UMA menggunakan metode design thinking serta memberikan rekomendasi berupa Prototype. Design thinking merupakan metode yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan solusi dari permasalahan yang ada dengan melibatkan atau kolaboratif dengan pengguna atau user sehingga output yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan keinginan pengguna atau user. Metode design thinking memiliki 5 tahap antara lain Empathize, Define, idate, Prototype dan Tes. Pada tahap Empathize, penulis menggali permasalahan secara langsung melalui interview dengan pengguna website. Pada tahap Define dan Ideate, penulis melakukan pendefinisian permasalahan dan merancang solusi. Pada tahap Prototype, penulis mengimplementasikan hasil dari tahap sebelumnya ke dalam bentuk design. Pada tahap pengujian akan diketahui hasil perancangan dan pembuatan solusi dalam bentuk design, tahap Tes menggunakan AB Testing akan mengkompers Website sebelum dan sesudah design, persentase yang didapat sebelum design 45% sedangkan persentase setelah design sebesar 88%. Penggunaan metode Design Thinking akan menghadirkan sebuah solusi yang memenuhi kebutuhan dan dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan pengguna saat menggunakan Website Universitas Medan Area. The development of the industry is very fast, especially the media industry communication, making Medan Area University participate in maintaining existence by creating the UMA Website as a giving platform inform the campus to UMA students. After deploying In the initial questionnaire to UMA students, 80% stated that the Website UMA needs to redesign the Website including the features, visuals and layout of the Website. The existence of this problem makes it difficult for students to find relevant information they want. The purpose of this research is to redesign the UMA Website UI/UX using the design thinking method and providing recommendations in the form of Prototype. Design thinking is a method used to get solutions to existing problems by involving or collaborating with user or user so that the output produced is in accordance with the needs and the wishes of the user or users. The design thinking method has 5 stages, among others Empathize, Define, idate, Prototype and Test. At the Empathize stage, the author explore problems directly through interviews with users website. In the Define and Ideate stages, the writer defines problems and design solutions. At the Prototype stage, the author implement the results of the previous stage in the form of a design. On In the testing phase, it will be known the results of the design and manufacture of internal solutions design form, the test stage using AB Testing will compress the Website before and after the design, the percentage obtained before the design is 45% while the percentage after design is 88%.
