dc.description.abstractCapable of hard steel is an important clue to determining the behavior patterns of heat and the nature of the material to be made in producing components. One way to determine the hardenability of steel, are using the Jominy test. This study, using the Jominy test, with parameters austenisasi temperature, holding time, the cooling medium, then verified with the results of numerical prediction method is not linear equations. The result showed that the higher the temperature austenisasi and the longer the holding time, the hardness will increase. As for the rapid cooling rate of the steel with higher hardness than steel slow cooling. Data of the results of this study, it can be used in the determination of thermal behavior in accordance with the desired mechanical properties and to avoid distortion Mainly using 60 st material as the material tested in this study, karana these materials are widely used in construction - construction and machine - the machine tool industry, such as material maker.en_US
