This research was aimed to determine the correlation between conformity and consumptive behavior towards online shopping in female student’s class of 2021 Psychology Department, University of Medan Area. The subject of this study was 70 students’ class of 2021 from psychology department which obtained by the screening data process. The sample was collected by using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection used a consumptive behavior scale which had 36 items compiled according to Sumartono's theory and a conformity scale which had 36 items compiled according to David's theory, this study conducted by using the Likert method. The data analysis in this study used the correlational test and using the Pearson Product Moment. From the results of the analysis, it was obtained (rxy = 0.595) with the significance of (p = 0.000 <0.005). It means that the hypothesis can be accepted that there is a positive relationship between conformity and consumptive behavior, which means that the higher the conformity, the higher tendency to behave consumptively, on the contrary, the lower the conformity, the lower tendency to behave consumptively. In this study, conformity was classified as high with an empirical mean of 113.51, and consumptive behavior was also classified as high with an empirical mean of 102.50. The contribution of conformity to consumptive behavior is 35.4% (r2= 0,354).en_US
