dc.description.abstractPengujian impak merupakan suatu pengujian untuk mengukur ketahanan bahan terhadap beban kejut. Pengujian impak mensimulasikan kondisi operasi material yang sering ditemui dimana beban tidak selamanya terjadi secara perlahan-lahan melainkan datang secara tiba-tiba. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah merancang alat uji impak Charpy untuk pengujian material komposit yang berpenguat serat alam (natural fiber). Alat uji Impak yang dirancang menggunakan standar ASTM D 5942-96 dan ASTM D 6110-97. Perancangan alat uji impak Charpy menggunakan metodologi umum perancangan produk. Metodologi perancangan didapatkan dengan melihat pada alat uji yang dijual di pasaran. Pengkombinasian standar ASTM dengan kebutuhan pengguna dan dibandingkan dengan alat uji yang sudah ada menghasilkan spesifikasi perancangan alat uji. Pemilihan bahan dilakukan dengan perhitungan kekuatan bahan dengan memperhatikan ketersediaan bahan di pasaran. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa pembuatan alat uji impak Charpy telah memenuhi syarat dalam pengujian. Alat uji impak baik dalam menguji bahan meskipun dengan ketebalan spesimen yang berbeda-beda. Impact testing is a test to measure the resistance of materials to shock loads. Impact testing simulates material operating conditions that are often encountered where the load does not always occur slowly but comes suddenly. The goal to be achieved in this study is to design a Charpy impact test tool for testing composite materials reinforced with natural fibers. Impact test equipment designed using ASTM D 5942-96 and ASTM D 6110-97 standards. The design of the Charpy impact test tool uses a general product design methodology. The design methodology is obtained by looking at the test equipment sold in the market. Combining ASTM standards with user requirements and compared with existing test equipment produces test equipment design specifications. Material selection is done by calculating the strength of the material by taking into account the availability of materials in the market. The test results show that the design of the Charpy impact test tool meets the repeatability aspects of quantitative data in testing. Impact test equipment is always consistent in testing even with different specimen thicknesses with the same type of material.en_US
