dc.description.abstractBeton adalah campuran dari agregat halus dan agregat kasar (pasir, kerikil, batu pecah atau agregat Jain) dengan semen, yang dipersatukan oleh air dalam perbandingan tertentu. Beton juga dapat didefinisikan sebagai bahan bangunan dan konstruksi yang sifat-sifatnya dapat ditentukan terlebih dahulu dengan mengadakan perencanaan dan pengawasan yang teliti terhadap bahan-bahan yang dipilih. Campuran dari agregat halus (pasir), agregat kasar (kerikil), atau jenis agregat lain dan air, dengan semen portland atau semen hidrolik yang lain tersebut akan mengeras seperti batuan. Pengerasan teljadi karena peristiwa reaksi kimia antara semen dengan air.
