This study aims to examine the relationship between self-control and phubbing behavior in class 11 teenagers at SMAS Bintang Laut, Bangko District. This research uses quantitative research methods. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique with a total of 108 people. Using the Likert scale technique, namely the self-control scale and the phubbing behavior scale. This analysis uses the Kolmogorov Smirnov technique with the help of the SPSS version 25.0 for Windows computer program. The data analysis technique used is Karl Pearson's Product Moment correlation. The results of this study show a correlation coefficient (rxy) of -0.619 with a significant value of p=0.000 (p<0.05). This means that the research hypothesis is accepted, namely that there is a significant negative relationship between self-control and phubbing behavior. Based on the calculation results, the hypothetical and empirical average value of self-control is classified as low, because seen from the comparison the hypothetical mean (MH) value of 47.5 is greater than the empirical mean (ME) value of 41.26. among the values. Then phubbing behavior is classified as high, because seen from the comparison the hypothetical mean value (MH) 45 is smaller than the empirical mean value (ME) 51.88 which is between the values. The effective contribution of self-control influences phubbing behavior by 38.3%.en_US
