Previously in the city of Tanjung Balai, there was an active bus terminal with several modes of transportation However, due to inadequate. conditions and facilities, many btts companies no longer operate their fleets-at the terminal. This has become the main reason to redesign the existing btts tenninal into a Type B terminal, so that the tenninal can have a more optimally fanctioning building with complete facilities according to Type B terminal standards. This redesign iS also driven by the presence of many informal bus terminals with minimal facilities and comfort for passengers, leading to congestion around these ii'lfonnal terminals. This studJI uses a qualitative descriptive method by reviewing the research objects through object identification on site. This process was carried out to determine the negative impact on the surrounding environment by collecting data from jounuils and books. Data analysis conclusions were obtained from location sun·eys and addressing related problem sources. The purpose of this design is to redesign a Type B btts terminal in Tanjung Balai Cily with a neo-vernacular Malay architectural approach. It is hoped that thi.s terminal can restore the tenninal's fanction as before and provide comfortable facilities for users. The redesign of this Type B bus terminal i.s expected to provide significant benefits to the community and the surrounding enviromnent, including improving transportation qualiry, developing infrastructure, and enhancing public spaces.
