Spur gears are essential components in various industrial and mechanical applications, where gear wear can significantly affect system performance and longevity. Polyethylene as a gear material offers advantages in terms of strength, chemical resistance, and low production costs. However, understanding the impact of operational conditions (dry and lubricated) and load on the wear of polyethylene spur gears is still limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of varying loads on the wear of polyethylene spur gears under two operational conditions: dry and lubricated. Testing was conducted using a module 2 gear with two gear ratios, 1:0.75 and 1:1. Each test was performed for 5 minutes with loads varying from 0 N to 0.32 N. Rotational speed data (Rpm) were recorded for each load and operational condition. The results showed that increasing the load significantly reduced the rotational speed (Rpm), indicating a higher wear rate. Additionally, the operational conditions (dry and lubricated) influenced the wear of polyethylenegears, with lubricated data showing different trends compared to dry conditions. This study provides valuable insights into the wear characteristics of polyethylene spur gears and can serve as a reference for the development of more durable gear materials and designs.en_US
