dc.description.abstractValve (katup) adalah perangkat mekanik yang mengontrol aliran (fluida) dan tekanan dalam suatu sistem atau proses dengan membuka, menutup, mengecilkan atau membesarkan arusnya. Perangkat mekanik ini terdapat 8 komponen utama yaitu: body, stem, seat atau rubber liner, O ring, disc, shaft, operator, actuator. Butterfly Valve adalah peralatan penting dalam proses pengolahan pemurnian CPO (Crude Palm Oil) sebagai peralatan untuk mengontrol aliran fluida. Jika peralatan ini tidak berfungsi dengan baik maka akan terjadi penurunan kapasitas produksi atau terjadi kegagalan proses produksi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berjudul “Analisis Pengendalian Aliran Air Cooling Tower Produk Fatty Acid Dengan Menggunakan Butterfly Valve di PT. Sari Dumai Sejati”. Adapun rumusan masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah pada proses sirkulasi aliran air di salah satu menara pendingin atau cooling tower di pabrik pemurnian minyak (refinery) CPO (Crude Palm Oil) PT. Sari Dumai Sejati. Dalam hal ini ada peralatan Butterfly valve yang terjadi kegagalan mengontrol aliran air karena kerusakan komponen Butterfly valve yang terpasang pada pipa masuk (suction) dan pipa keluar (discharge) dari suatu pompa sentrifugal yang menyebabkan kegagalan dalam proses Fatty acid. A valve is a mechanical device that controls flow (fluid) and pressure in a system or process by opening, closing, contracting or increase the current. This mechanical device has 8 main components namely: body, stem, seat or rubber liner, O ring, disc, shaft, operator, actuator. Butterfly Valve is an important equipment in the purification processing process CPO (Crude Palm Oil) as equipment to control fluid flow. If If this equipment is not functioning properly, capacity will decrease production or production process failure occurs. Therefore, this research entitled "Analysis of Cooling Tower Water Flow Control for Fatty Acid Products By Using Butterfly Valve at PT. True Dumai Sari”. As for The problem formulation studied in this research is the circulation process water flow in one of the cooling towers in the purification plant oil (refinery) CPO (Crude Palm Oil) PT. True Dumai Sari. In this case There is butterfly valve equipment that fails to control water flow because Damage to the butterfly valve component installed on the inlet pipe (suction) and the outlet pipe (discharge) of a centrifugal pump which causes failure in the Fatty acid process.en_US
