Abstract: | Film merupakan gambar bergerak dengan susunan gambar kemudian diputar dengan proyektor serta diartikan dalam berbagai makna. Realitas masyarakat tentang berbagai unsur kehidupan hingga fenomena sosial digambarkan dalam film. Kesenjangan sosial adalah kondisi ketidakseimbangan sosial yang dialami manusia secara individu maupun kelompok dalam kehidupannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana representasi kesenjangan sosial pada serial drama Squid Game. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti menggunakan Teori Kode – Kode Televisi dari John Fiske dengan tiga level yaitu level realitas, level representasi, dan level ideologi. Hasil dari penelitian ini untuk mencari kesenjangan sosial melalui Level Realitas yang ditunjukkan dari adegan perilaku, ekspresi, gerakan, lingkungan, kostum, tata rias, dan ucapan. Level Representasi ditunjukkan dari kamera, pencahayaan, dan dialog. Level Ideologi menggambarkan ideologi kesenjangan sosial. Kesenjangan antara kaya dan miskin sangat memengaruhi kesehatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat serta pembentukan Sumber Daya Manusia dan kohesi sosial. Faktor yang bisa menimbulkan kesenjangan sosial ekonomi baru ini adalah kelompok-kelompok yang tidak mampu adaptable terhadap tuntutan akan penyesuaian terhadap teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Di serial drama Squid Game, kelompok-kelompok borjuis atau kelompok-kelompok kapital hiburannya mempertaruhkan nyawa orang. A film is a moving picture with an arrangement of images played with a projector and interpreted in various ways. The reality of society about various life aspects and social phenomena is depicted in films. Social inequality is the state of social imbalance experienced by individuals or groups in their lives. This research aimed to identify how social inequality is represented in the drama series Squid Game. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative approach. The researcher used John Fiske's Codes of Television Theory with three levels: reality level, representation level, and ideological level. The research results sought social inequality through the Reality Level indicated by scenes of behavior, expressions, movements, setting, costumes, makeup, and speech. The Representation Level was indicated by the camera, lighting, and dialogue. The Ideological Level depicted the ideology of social inequality. The gap between rich and poor significantly affects public health and welfare as well as the formation of human resources and social cohesion. A contributing factor to the emergence of this new socioeconomic inequality is the groups that fail to adapt to demands for adjustments to information and communication technology. In the drama series Squid Game, bourgeois or capitalist entertainment groups gamble with human lives. |
