Abstract: | UMKM Pak Zainal adalah usaha mikro kecil menengah yang memproduksi kerupuk jangek berbahan dasar kulit sapi di Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara. Proses pengeringan kerupuk yang masih manual membutuhkan waktu 2-3 hari, sehingga kurang efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang alat pengering kerupuk yang dapat mempercepat waktu pengeringan menjadi kurang dari 1 hari menggunakan metode Pahl & Beitz yang melibatkan empat fase utama. Penelitian ini melibatkan 38 responden dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner terbuka sebanyak 15 pertanyaan, kuesioner tertutup 15 pertanyaan, serta pengukuran data antropometri. Hasil kuesioner dinyatakan valid karena R hitung > R tabel dan reliabel dengan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,803. Data antropometri yang digunakan juga telah memenuhi kecukupan dan keseragaman. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan spesifikasi alat berupa desain kotak tinggi berukuran 100 cm x 60 cm x 170 cm dengan kapasitas pengeringan 30 kg per siklus. Alat dilengkapi fitur kontrol suhu otomatis, timer, alarm, dan roda untuk mobilitas, serta memiliki warna silver yang natural. Implementasi alat pengering ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan kapasitas produksi UMKM Pak Zainal. UMKM Pak Zainal is a micro, small and medium enterprise that produces jangek crackers made from cowhide in Medan City, North Sumatra. The manual cracker drying process takes 2-3 days, making it less efficient. This study aims to design a cracker dryer that can speed up the drying time to less than 1 day using the Pahl & Beitz method involving four main phases. This study involved 38 respondents with a data collection method through an open questionnaire of 15 questions, a closed questionnaire of 15 questions, and anthropometric data measurements. The questionnaire results were declared valid because R count > R table and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.803. The anthropometric data used also met the adequacy and uniformity. The design results show the tool specifications in the form of a tall box design measuring 100 cm x 60 cm x 170 cm with a drying capacity of 30 kg per cycle. The tool is equipped with automatic temperature control features, timers, alarms, and wheels for mobility, and has a natural silver color. The implementation of this dryer is expected to increase operational efficiency and production capacity of Pak Zainal's MSMEs. |
