The purpose of this study was to determine and empirically test the mediating role of self-confidence in the influence of parental support on student learning motivation. This study used a quantitative method, with a population of 571 and a sample of 243. The sampling technique used was random sampling. The data analysis technique used was mediation analysis. Parental support has no effect on learning motivation, with a path coefficient of 0.089, and significant, with a p-value of 0.095. It is concluded that parental support has no effect on learning motivation. Parental support has an effect on self-confidence, with a path coefficient of 0.442, and significant, with a p-value <0.001. It is concluded that parental support has a positive and significant effect on self-confidence. Self-confidence has an effect on learning motivation, with a path coefficient of 0.628, and significant, with a p-value <0.001. It is concluded that self-confidence has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation. The results show that there is an indirect effect through significant self-confidence (p <0.001). This means that self-confidence plays a significant role as a mediator in this relationship. The confidence interval also does not include zero, strengthening the evidence for significant mediation. |
