| Abstract: | Permintaan produk berbahan dasar kayu yang terus meningkat mendorong peningkatan limbah hasil pengolahan kayu, khususnya serbuk kayu. UD. The increasing demand for wood-based products has led to a rise in wood processing waste, especially sawdust. UD. Pariama, a wood material supplier, produces approximately 50–60 kg of sawdust per month, which remains underutilized. This study aims to evaluate alternative uses of this waste into economically valuable products using the Value Engineering approach. Three product alternatives are considered: wood pellets, briquettes, and particle boards. Each alternative is analyzed based on functional value and economic feasibility. The results indicate that wood pellets are the most optimal option. In addition to having a competitive market price of around IDR 3,800/kg, wood pellets have strong market potential, including in developing countries seeking renewable energy sources. Laboratory testing shows that the moisture content of the wood pellets is 10.2%, which complies with Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 8675:2018 for energy fuel. Therefore, converting sawdust into wood pellets is an effective strategy to increase the added value of industrial waste while supporting the development of renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources. This solution not only addresses waste management issues but also contributes to sustainable energy practices and green economic growth. |
