This study aims to determine the effect of peer social support on juvenile delinquency at SMKS Dwiwarna Medan. Juvenile delinquency refers to deviant behaviors that violate social norms or school rules, such as skipping class, smoking, and other aggressive actions. Peer social support refers to emotional, informational, and acceptance-based support from peers that fosters a sense of security, being valued, and social inclusion, as described in Weiss’s theory. This research used a quantitative method with a simple linear regression approach. The sample consisted of 72 students selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) to measure juvenile delinquency and a peer social support scale developed based on aspects of Weiss’s theory. The hypothesis of this study stated that there is a negative effect of peer social support on juvenile delinquency. The results showed that the hypothesis was accepted, with a regression coefficient of -0.173, indicating a negative direction of influence, and a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that the effect is statistically significant. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.547, meaning that 54.7% of the variation in juvenile delinquency was explained by peer social support. This finding suggests that the lower the peer social support received by adolescents, the higher their tendency to engage in delinquent behavior.
