| dc.description.abstract | Gypsum adalah bahan yang sangat serbaguna dalam dunia industri dan manufaktur, karena sifatnya yang ringan, mudah dibentuk, tahan api, dan ekonomis. Di dunia industri manufaktur, gypsum digunakan dalam pembuatan Plafon dan Dinding Interior pada kapal. Gypsum sering digunakan untuk membangun partisi atau dinding pembatas di ruang interior kapal, seperti kabin, ruang makan, dan lorong. Retaknya Plafon dan Dinding Interior pada kapal merupakan kondisi serius, keretakan terjadi akibat beban dinamis, yang berasal dari getaran mesin atau guncangan, maka memerlukan pemahaman tentang mekanisme fraktur material Gypsum untuk membantu pengembangan material baru dengan ketahanan lebih baik terhadap beban dinamis. Tujuan penelitian ini membuat spesimen berbentuk cakram dengan material gypsum untuk pengujian terhadap beban dinamis. Serta menganalisis fraktur yang terjadi pada material akibat beban dinamis. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimental dan setiap tindakan yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk menganalisis fraktur yang terjadi pada spesimen. Pengujian dilakukan untuk mengamati pola retak, mekanisme propagasi retak, serta karakteristik kegagalan material. Spesimen berbentuk cakram dengan material gypsum yang memiliki takik V dengan variasi lubang 1 mm, 2 mm, dan 4 mm yang diuji dengan beban dinamis untuk menentukan pengaruh tegangan di sekitar konsentrasi takik terhadap inisiasi dan propagasi retak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fraktur terjadi pada daerah sekitar lubang dengan pola retak yang dimulai dari ujung lubang dan pola retak sangat bergantung pada tingkat beban dan sifat mekanik material. Gypsum is a highly versatile material in the industrial and manufacturing world due to its lightweight nature, ease of shaping, fire resistance, and cost-effectiveness. In the manufacturing industry, gypsum is used in the construction of ceilings and interior walls on ships. It is often utilized to build partitions or dividing walls in the ship’s interior spaces, such as cabins, dining areas, and corridors. Cracking of ceilings and interior walls on ships is a serious condition. These cracks occur due to dynamic loads, which originate from engine vibrations or shocks. Therefore, understanding the fracture mechanism of gypsum material is necessary to aid in the development of new materials with better resistance to dynamic loads.The objective of this study is to create disc-shaped specimens made of gypsum material to test against dynamic loads, and to analyze the fractures that occur in the material as a result of these loads. The method used is an experimental approach, and each action taken aims to analyze the fractures in the specimens.The tests were conducted to observe crack patterns, crack propagation mechanisms, and the failure characteristics of the material. The disc-shaped gypsum specimens featured V-notches with varying hole sizes of 1 mm, 2 mm, and 4 mm, and were tested under dynamic loads to determine the effect of stress around the notch concentration on crack initiation and propagation. The results of the study indicate that fractures occurred in the area around the holes, with crack patterns beginning at the hole edges. The crack patterns were highly dependent on the load level and the mechanical properties of the material. | en_US |
