The influence of social anxiety on FoMO is affected by communication between parents and children. Effective communication between parents and children can build children's self-confidence and social skills, thereby reducing the negative impact of social anxiety. This study aims to analyze the influence of social anxiety on FoMO (Fear of Missing Out) with parent-child communication as a mediation.FoMO (Fear of Missing Out) is a state where someone has a desire to play or merely view their social media to remain continuously connected with what others are doing in the virtual world. This research uses a quantitative method with a sample of 211 students from the 10th and 11th grades majoring in TKJ.The data collection methods used are the social anxiety scale, the FoMO (fear of missing out) scale, and the parent-child communication scale. The data analysis technique used in the research is Structural Equation Model (SEM).The results of this study indicate that there is no influence of social anxiety on high school students' FoMO with parent-child communication as a mediator. The result was obtained through testing using the Sobel Test technique, where based on the two-tailed probability value of 0.198 > 0.05, and/or with a Sobel test statistic value of -1.286 < 1.96. |
