| dc.description.abstract | Di era globalisasi saat ini, kemajuan teknologi berkembang dengan sangat cepat, memicu meningkatnya intensitas persaingan di dunia usaha dan industri dalam upaya menguasai pasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kekuatan lentur hasil pengelasan metode Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) pada proses Tailor Welded Blank (TWB) dengan menggunakan bahan logam baja karbon ST 37 yang memiliki perbedaan ketebalan. Proses pengelasan dilakukan dengan menggunakan elektroda E6013 dan arus sebesar 80 Ampere. Variasi ketebalan yang digunakan dalam pengujian adalah 6 mm disambung dengan 4 mm, 3 mm, dan 2 mm. Spesimen diuji menggunakan metode uji lentur tiga titik (three-point bending test) sesuai standar ASTM E-290 untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketebalan terhadap kekuatan sambungan las. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa spesimen dengan kombinasi ketebalan 6-4 mm memiliki nilai rata-rata beban dan tegangan lentur tertinggi, masing-masing sebesar N dan 800 MPa. Semakin kecil ketebalan bahan, maka spesimen cenderung mengalami deformasi plastis yang lebih besar dan menunjukkan kekuatan lentur yang lebih rendah. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa perbedaan ketebalan logam berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kekuatan lentur hasil pengelasan SMAW pada TWB. Hasil ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap optimalisasi parameter pengelasan dalam industri manufaktur dan konstruksi, khususnya yang melibatkan sambungan logam dengan ketebalan yang bervariasi. In this era of globalization, rapid technological advancements have intensified competition in the business and industrial sectors to dominate the market. This study aims to analyze the flexural strength of welds using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) method in the Tailor Welded Blank (TWB) process with ST 37 low-carbon steel materials of varying thicknesses. The welding process was carried out using E6013 electrodes with a current of 80 Amperes. The thickness variations tested were 6 mm joined with 4 mm, 3 mm, and 2 mm. Specimens were tested using the three-point bending method in accordance with ASTM E-290 standards to determine the effect of thickness on weld joint strength. The results show that the 6–4 mm thickness combination yielded the highest average load and bending stress, reaching 2575, 1 N and 800 MPa, respectively. Thinner materials tend to undergo greater plastic deformation and demonstrate lower flexural strength. This study confirms that thickness differences in metals significantly affect the flexural strength of SMAW welds in the TWB process. These findings contribute to the optimization of welding parameters in manufacturing and construction industries, particularly in applications involving joints with varying material thicknesses. | en_US |
