| dc.description.abstract | Penelitian ini bertujuan menyelidiki keausan roda gigi lurus berbahan polimer Polyformaldehyde (POM), pada kondisi kering dan terlumasi, mengingat peningkatan aplikasi polimer di industri akibat properti unggulnya seperti massa jenis rendah, ketahanan korosi, dan biaya efektif, namun sering dihadapkan pada masalah keausan akibat gesekan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental pada mesin uji rig dengan beban torsi konstan 5,8 Nm selama 2 juta putaran, hasil pengujian menunjukkan keausan signifikan terjadi pada pengujian roda gigi POM dalam kondisi kering. Namun pada pengujian rasio 1:1 dengan kondisi terlumasi roda gigi mengalami penurunan keausan yaitu, driver 0,24 gr (dari pengujian kondisi kering) dan driven 0,22 gr (dari pengujian kondisi kering). Pada pengujian kondisi terlumasi rasio 1:0,75 roda gigi mengalami penurunan keausan yaitu, driver 0,20 gr (dari pengujian kondisi kering) dan driven 0,95 gr (dari pengujian kondisi kering). Temuan ini secara jelas membuktikan bahwa pelumasan tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pendingin, tetapi juga sangat efektif mengurangi keausan, sehingga secara signifikan meningkatkan kinerja dan memperpanjang umur pakai roda gigi polimer. This study aims to investigate the wear of straight gears made of Polyformaldehyde (POM) polymer, in dry and lubricated conditions, considering the increasing application of polymers in industry due to their superior properties such as low density, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness, but often faced with wear problems due to friction. This study was conducted using an experimental method on a rig test machine with a constant torque load of 5.8 Nm for 2 million rotations, the test results showed significant wear occurred in the POM gear test in dry conditions. However, in the 1:1 ratio test with lubricated conditions the gears experienced a decrease in wear, namely, the driver 0.24 gr (from the dry condition test) and driven 0.22 gr (from the dry condition test). In the 1:0.75 ratio test the gears experienced a decrease in wear, namely, the driver 0.20 gr (from the dry condition test) and driven 0.95 gr (from the dry condition test). These findings clearly prove that lubrication not only functions as a coolant, but is also very effective in reducing wear, thereby significantly improving the performance and extending the service life of polymer gears. | en_US |
