Food security is a condition in which all people at all times have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and preferences for a healthy and active life. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of food availability, access, and the contribution of food absorption to food security in rice-surplus districts/cities in North Sumatra. This study uses a quantitative descriptive causality with the Partial Least Square Path Modeling (PLS-PM) method. This study concludes that food availability has a direct influence on food security in rice-surplus districts/cities in North Sumatra. First, the latent variable of food access has a direct influence on food security of 0.895 and an indirect influence of 0.533, so that the total influence reaches 1.428. Second, the latent variable of food absorption has a direct effect on food security of 0.656. Third, the latent variable of food availability has a direct effect on food security of 0.140 and an indirect effect of 0.387, resulting in a total effect of 0.527. | en_US |
