The use of polymers in industry is currently experiencing very rapid development. This is because polymers have lightweight properties, low production costs, are resistant to corrosion, and have lower processing temperatures compared to materials such as metals or ceramics. Plastics are widely used in everyday life, so their use in modern society is increasing rapidly. This study uses quantitative research methods with observation data analysis techniques and direct testing. The results obtained from this study are from At low pressure, the surface tends to be rough and the color is uneven because the plastic has not completely melted and at too high a temperature bubbles and color unevenness appear due to thermal degradation. The hardness of HDPE plastic sheet processed with a hot press machine by observing the effect of the pressure that occurs, the hardness of each sample is obtained, namely at a pressure of 9.80 bar the hardness is 4.6 HV, 14.71 bar is 5.0 HV, 19.61 bar is 6.8 HV, 24.51 bar is 5.5 HV and at a pressure of 29.42 bar 4.6 bar. The sample processed at a pressure of 19.61 bar has the highest level of hardness. Hardness tends to increase along with a decrease in the average indentation diagonal, indicating that the material becomes harder as the indentation size decreases. |
