Kotama. This study aims to identify consumer preferences for selected products made from shoe leather waste and to apply the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method in product design at CV. Kotama. Shoe leather waste generated during the production process has not been optimally utilized and has the potential to cause environmental problems. Data were collected through open-ended and closed-ended questionnaires distributed to 20 respondents. The open-ended questionnaire was used to determine the selected product, while the closed-ended questionnaire was analyzed using frequency analysis to identify priority consumer needs. The QFD method was applied to link consumer needs (WHATs) with product technical characteristics (HOWs) through the House of Quality (HoQ) matrix. The results show that handbags are the most preferred product developed from shoe leather waste. The highest-priority technical characteristic is the selection and sorting of suitable leather waste materials. Based on these results, a handbag prototype made from shoe leather waste was designed to meet consumer needs and has the potential to increase the value of waste utilization while supporting environmental sustainability at CV. Kotama.
