One of the growing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is in the traditional food industry, namely the opak production business. Opak is a traditional food whose production process uses cassava (Manihot esculenta) as the main ingredient. Based on observations, the waste produced per month is 13,500 liters of washing waste and 1,975 liters of boiling waste. This liquid waste contains organic compounds, which, if disposed of directly without undergoing a waste management process, will cause environmental pollution and disrupt the water and soil ecosystems. This study aims to design a device to convert liquid waste into clean water by utilizing solar energy as the main energy source for the device. This study uses the Pahl and Beitz method, which is used to design tools based on actual problems that occur in the field using four stages, namely task planning and description, product concept design, product form design, and detail design. From the results of the tool testing that has been carried out, the liquid waste underwent a very significant color change from before and after conversion. The liquid waste treatment process can be completed with 93% boiling and 98% washing. With an energy requirement of 283.3 watts for waste treatment, the effective solar energy irradiation time is 5 hours. In addition, the angle of inclination of the solar panel is 10°. |
