This study aims to examine the effect of father involvement on the psychological wellbeing of early adult women at Medan State University. The background of this research is based on the understanding that a father’s involvement plays an important role in shaping personality, independence, and the psychological well-being of daughters, especially as they enter early adulthood, a stage characterized by many changes and challenges. This research used a quantitative method with an associative approach. The participants were 100 female students from the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) and the Faculty of Social Sciences (FIS) at Medan State University, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed via Google Forms during May, based on standardized father involvement and psychological well-being scales. The results of the analysis indicate a significant positive effect of father involvement on the psychological well-being of early adult women. The higher the level of father involvement, the better the psychological well-being experienced by the students. This is reflected in several aspects, including self-acceptance, positive relationships with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth. These findings confirm that the father’s role is not only important during childhood or adolescence but continues to be significant in early adulthood, when women begin to develop independence, shape their identity, and plan their future. The conclusion of this study is that father involvement contributes significantly to the psychological wellbeing of early adult women at Medan State University. This research is expected to provide broader insight into the importance of a father’s role in supporting the psychological development of daughters and to serve as a reference for future research in the context of family and psychological well-being.
