This study aims to analyze the interpersonal communication model in building students’ motivation to memorize the Qur’an at Rumah Qur’an Maskanul Huffaz Medan. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving ustazah and female students as informants. The analysis employed the Transactional Communication Model and Johari Window Theory. The results showed that interpersonal communication between ustazah and students occurred dialogically, reciprocally, and dynamically through motivation, memorization evaluation, feedback, and empathetic dialogue. Based on Johari Window Theory, the communication process expanded the open area through students’ openness, reduced the blind area through feedback from ustazah, built trust within the hidden area, and discovered students’ potential in the unknown area. The findings indicate that the Transactional Communication Model is the primary model used in building students’ motivation. This study also produced a new model, namely the Reflective Transactional Communication Model, which emphasizes self-reflection, spiritual awareness, and meaningful understanding in strengthening intrinsic motivation to memorize the Qur’an.en_US
